Tension at Adenta Police Station as Crime Officer Defies Transfer for Over a Month

Tensions are rising at the Adenta Police Station due to Chief Superintendent Daniel Yao Dzansi’s refusal to obey a transfer order from the Ghana Police Service.

A police posting dated May 9, 2025, stated that Chief Superintendent Dzansi was to move from his role at the Adenta Divisional CID in Greater Accra to the Regional Crime Office in the Savannah Region. DSP William A. Sadique, who was previously with the Okpoi-Gonno District Crime Office, has already reported to take over the role.

Despite this, over a month later, Chief Superintendent Dzansi remains in his position and has locked his office, preventing DSP Sadique from officially taking charge. This has led to serious administrative and operational challenges at the station.

Sources say Dzansi has appealed to the Regional Police Command, citing personal health reasons. He reportedly claims that his doctor advised against relocating outside Accra, which he says is why he has not complied with the transfer.
