Yes, we are scared of John Mahama coming back – Owusu Bempah
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is indeed scared of the comeback of former President John Dramani Mahama, a deputy Communications Director of the NPP, Ernest Owusu Bempah has said.
He said the NPP is indeed afraid of how Mr Mahama will come back to destroy the economy.
His comments come after Mr Mahama indicated that out of the four flagbearer aspirants of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the governing NPP is afraid of only him.
Mr Mahama said this during his campaign tour in Wenchi on Sunday, March 12.
He is being contested in the upcoming primaries of the NDC by former Finance Minister Dr Kwabena Duffuor, Former Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) boss Kojo Bonsu and Mr Ernest Kobea, a businessman.
But he told the gathering that he is the right person to lead the NDC as flagbearer in 2024.
He appealed to delegates of the party to vote for him to become the flagbearer.
“I am confident that God will give us a victory. Let us vote massively for the NDC and support one person. All four aspirants, the NPP are not scared of anyone except one, they are scared of Mahama,” 2020 presidential candidate for the party said.
Reacting to his comments, Mr Owusu Bempah said in a statement on Wednesday, March 15 that “Indeed, we are scared of John Mahama, why not? John Mahama is the only leader in Ghana who plunged the nation into a power crisis for almost five years, so we are scared of him coming back again.
“He is the only leader in this country who institutionalized corruption, unprecedented in the history of Ghana, no leader has institutionalized corruption than John Dramani Mahama so we are scared of him.
