Who wins showdown Today? as NPP elects flagbearer for 2024 general election

The ruling New patriotic party will elect it’s flagbearer for 2024 presidential election. Four persons are contesting the election which could make or break the party. Following what has been described by many as one of the fiercest  election in the annals of the party.

Even though the contest is between the Vice president Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia  and Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Member of Parliament for Assin Central, a former Minister of Agriculture Owusu Afriyie Akoto and former Member of Parliament for Mampong, Francis Addai Nimoh. About 203,439 drawn for various levels of the party across the country will determine the faith of the four contestants. The delegates are made up of Polling station excecutives, Electoral area constituencies, Members of Parliament, Ministers of States, Members of the national council and council of elders.

Today’s decentralized crucial election is expected to be held across the 275 constituencies of the country.  Ahead of the polls, Vice president Dr. Bawumia has been tipped in a latest poll by UK based centre. For sustainable African development initiative to win by  80% of the votes.

The Vice president came a top on 26 August Super delegates conference with 639 votes representing 68.15 per cent of the total valid votes cast to come top ahead of today’s election. In distant second was  Kennedy Agyapong who got 132 votes representing 14.30 of the valid votes cast  and Addia Nimoh got 49 valid votes cast.
