President Mahama Appoints Dr. Zanetor Rawlings as Deputy Minister Of Health

Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings has just been given a new and important job. She is now the Deputy Minister of Health in Ghana. That means she will help make big decisions about hospitals, doctors, nurses, and how people in Ghana stay healthy.

This news made a lot of people start talking. Why? Because Dr. Zanetor is not just anyone. She is the daughter of Jerry John Rawlings, who used to be the president of Ghana and started the political party called the NDC (National Democratic Congress). She is also a Member of Parliament (MP) for Klottey Korle. She has done that job for over 10 years!

Many people thought she would have been given a big role like this much earlier. When she wasn’t chosen at first, some people were surprised and even upset. A politician named Alexander Afenyo-Markin said in January that it didn’t seem fair. He even said it might mean there were some problems or disagreements inside the NDC party.

Now, President John Mahama has chosen her for this important health job. Some people believe this is a smart move. Why? Because Dr. Zanetor is not only part of a famous political family, but she’s also a trained medical doctor. That means she understands health and hospitals, so she could really help make things better in Ghana’s healthcare system.

This decision might help the NDC party look stronger and more united as they prepare for the next elections. It also shows that the party wants to include important and smart people in big roles, especially those who understand what Ghana needs.
