NPP sacks Hopeson Adore Buaben Asamoa and two others for allegedly campaigning for Alan Kyeremanteng

The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have dismissed four astute members of the party for allegledly endorsing Alan Kyeremateng, an aspiring independent candidate for the 2024 presidential elections. The dismissed embers include Hopeson Adorye, Yaw Buaben Asamoa, Nana Ohene Ntow and Boniface Abubakar Saddique.
According to a press statement released by the party on Monday, November 20, 2023, the actions of these members breached the party’s constitution which has resulted in their dismissal from the party. The statement cited Article 3(9)(1) of the party’s constitution as a reference to the decision of expelling these members.
“A member of the Party., whio stands as an indepedent candidate against the officially elected member of the Party, who joins or declares his or her support for another Political Party, or for an independent candidate, when the Party has sponsored a candidate, when the Party has sponsored a candidate in a general or by-election, automatically forfeits his or her membership of the party,” the statement read.
“In line with these constitutional provisions , it is the view of the NPP that Hopeson Adorye, Yaw Buaben Asamoa, Nana Ohene Ntow and Boniface Abubakar Saddique have AUTOMATICALLY FORFEITED their membership of the Party. They are, therefore, no longer members of the Party,” the statement added.

These recent occurences follows months of political tension within the party after Alan Kyeremanteng left the NPP to compete as an independent candidate.
