Astute Ghanaian lawyer, Anthony Akoto Ampaw Esq has reportedly passed away. According to reports, the veteran lawyer passed away at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) on Friday, October 20, 2023.
The lawyer has allegedly been ill for most of the year though the actual cause of death has not been revealed.
He was in the limelight in 2020 as the head of the defense team who represented the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and emerging victorious during the 2020 Presidential Elections Petition by the NDC held at the supreme court of Ghana.
He was a great human rights lawyer and activist which garnered him a good reputation both locally and internationally.
He was also a well-known business partner to President Nana Akufo Addo, serving as a partner in the law firm Akufo-Addo, Prempeh & Co.
A product of the University of Ghana, Lawyer Akoto Ampaw has left a legacy that has inspired longer generation and his death would be a great lost to Mother Ghana.
