Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has accepted his defeat in the New Patriotic Party’s Presidential Primaries. Kennedy Agyapong believes that the conduct of the elections have been fair and very transparent. He made this declaration at the Accra Sports Stadium after the winner of the elections was announced.
“Indeed it is a great day today. I believe the party have been fair and transparent. That is the only thing I have been preaching and i must admit this elections ha ve been fair. My grassroots have spoken and therefore, I accept the results in good faith,” he said.
He threw his support to the Flagbearer- elect, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. He assured the party that he will very much support the party to win the next elections.
“I pledge my support to Bawumia, we are going to work tirelessly to break the 8,” he added.
He also admonished the party to work together to give the National Democratic Congress (NDC) a “showdown”
Kennedy’s seemingly humble speech have cleared the doubts about his commitment to the party especially if he loses to Bawumia. From his assertions, one can gather that the NPP is prepared and focused on winning the presidential elections. However, can they avoid a second coming of John Dramani Mahama in the next elections ?
