Inflation rate falls sharply to 45% in March

The Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) has announced that the inflation rate for March 2023 has fallen sharply to 45%.

The Government Statistician Professor Samuel Kobina Annim announced this on Wednesday, April 12.

“This means that in the month of March 2023 the general price level was 45.0% higher than March 2022. Month-on-month inflation between February 2023 and March 2023 was -1.2%,” he said at a press conference.

This was influenced by some deflation recorded by the Food and non-alcoholic beverages group.
