Guinness World Records Has Disqualified Afua Asantewaa On Her Second Singathon.

Guinness World Records Has Disqualified Afua Asantewaa On Her Second Singathon.

On Thursday evening (May 8, 2025), she posted on social media that her attempt to break a world record was not successful. She also shared a picture of the message she got from Guinness World Records.

She said the journey had been tough but also amazing. She felt happy to have tried something so big and said it helped her grow and learn a lot. This was her second time trying to break the world record for the longest singing marathon.

She called her post:
“UPDATE ON GUINNESS WORLD RECORD LONGEST SINGING MARATHON INDIVIDUAL – SECOND ATTEMPT #2.0 Record attempt was unsuccessful.”

She thanked her team and everyone who supported her, cheered her on, gave advice, and believed in her dream.

Then she showed what Guinness World Records told her:

They said her record attempt was disqualified (which means it didn’t count) because she didn’t follow one of the important rules.

The rule says you can only take a break after singing for one full hour, and the break must only be 5 minutes long.
But during her attempt, she took a 15-minute break when she only had 5 minutes of rest time. Later, she also took a break of 105 minutes when she only had 10 minutes saved up.

Because of that, Guinness said they couldn’t accept her attempt as a new record. They still praised her effort and said they hope she understands why the rules had to be followed to keep it fair for everyone.
