FC Barcelona charged with bribery for referee payment results in champions league exclusion

Barcelona has been charged with bribery for payment made to former vice president of Technical Committee of Referees, Jose Maria Enriquez. This could result in the club been banned from champions league. Barca paid €7.5 million to companies owned by  Enriquez from 2001 to 2018.This takes in Joan Laportas first resign as club leader. But the president still insists on numerous occasions that the payments were made honestly for consultation work.
