The Director General of NADMO, Hon. Eric Nana Agyemang-Prempeh has paid a visit to areas which were flooded in the Bono East Region as a result of the overflow of the Black Volta. He made the visit on Monday, October 23, 2023, a couple of days after his visit to the Volta Region.
Hon. Agyemang-Prempeh presented relief items to the Bono East Regional Minister, Hon. Adu Gyan which were to be given to victims of the flooding incident.
Earlier in the week, it was discovered that over 2500 people mostly in the Pru East district had been displaced due to an overflow in the Black Volta as a result of heavy downpour in the area. More than ten communities in the district were reportedly affected by the disaster.
As its core mandate to manage disasters, the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) led by its Director General, Hon. Agyemang-Prempeh had to rush in to curb the situation.
Nana Agyemang-Prempeh visited various shelters for victims in the Region especially those in the Buipe area.
Hon. Agyemang-Prempeh also paid a courtesy visit to the Paramount Chief of Yeji as well as President of the Regional House of Chiefs, Nana Pimampim Yaw Kagbrese V, to discuss the situation and find possible solutions the manage it.
