Director-General of NADMO receives relief items from UN delegation

The Director-General of NADMO, Hon. Eric Nana Agyemang-Prempeh has received donations of relief items from a delegation of the United Nations Inter-Agency group for the affected communities in the Akosombo Dam Spillage. The delegation presented the relief items to Hon. Agyemang Prempeh on Friday, October 21, 2023.
The delegation was led by the UN Resident Coordinator, Ghana, Charles Abani and consisted of the country director of the World Food Programme (WFP), Barbara Clemens, the Deputy Representative of UNICEF in Ghana, Fiachra McAsey, and a representative from the World Health Organisation (WHO), Sally-Ann Ohene.
The team presented packages to Hon. Agyemang-Prempeh including bottled water, water purification tablets, water storage tanks, tents in addition to items which were donated by NADMO with the leadership of Hon. Eric Nana Agyemang-Prempeh earlier in the week.
As part of their assistance on emergencies, the United Nations Inter-Agency have deployed teams to assess about 60 temporary shelters in the North, Central, and South Tongu Districts.
The WFP have also commenced the registration of affected households for cash transfers for the upkeep of these household and to meet their daily needs.
Hon. Agyemang-Prempeh also received relief packages from a delegation from Ghana Gas. He concluded the day with a visit to shelters for affected victims in the Central Tongu and Ada East Districts
