BREAKING: National Security Storms In for Ex-GIHOC Boss Kofi Jumah!

Former Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, is at the center of a growing controversy after being picked up by National Security operatives in what has now become a major political and financial scandal. The Ashanti Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Yandoh, confirmed that Mr. Jumah has since been transferred to the Ashanti Regional Police Command and is awaiting further directives from authorities in Accra.
The incident dates back to the early hours of Thursday, May 15, 2025, when National Security personnel reportedly stormed Mr. Jumah’s residence in a bid to recover state-owned vehicles allegedly still in his possession. Investigations reveal that Mr. Jumah is also being probed for a series of financial irregularities that allegedly occurred during his tenure as CEO of GIHOC.
One of the key allegations is that Mr. Jumah purchased a luxurious Genesis G90 saloon car—valued at over $100,000—for just GHS 4,943.11, representing only 5% of the vehicle’s actual worth. This transaction was reportedly approved by a letter from GIHOC’s Board of Directors and confirmed by the company’s Secretary, Apea Twumasi-Ankrah. An independent valuation by the State Transport Corporation placed the vehicle’s worth at GHS 98,862.00.
Further claims indicate that Mr. Jumah retained two more official vehicles, including an Audi priced at over $60,000. In addition, he is accused of inflating GIHOC’s staff numbers and selling off company property in Tema valued at more than $700,000, all without proper authorization.
In a shocking revelation, Magdalene Ndamley, Deputy CEO of GIHOC, has accused Jumah of stealing GH¢40,000 weekly for eight years, claiming his actions contributed heavily to the collapse of GIHOC. She emphasized that massive looting by management and staff under his leadership brought the once-thriving company to its knees.
Adding fuel to the fire, Mustapha Gbande, Deputy Director of Operations at the Presidency, remarked that Jumah “will soon take his medication in jail,” suggesting criminal charges may be imminent. This explosive saga continues to unfold with national attention.
