
Ghana Blackstars lost to Mexico 2:0 in an international friendly game in the united States of America. The match kicked off in the early hours of Sunday of which Ghanaians were eager to see to the performance of Blackstars. Mexico broke the deadlock in the 57th minutes through Hirving Lozano before Carlos Antuna made it 2:0 in the 72 minutes.
However, going into the game the Blackstars had been unbeaten in their last five games. It is Chris Hughton first defeat since taking over as head Coach Blackstars. The Mexicans had now won meetings with Ghana Of which are in friendlies. The first meeting between the two teams in 2006 saw Mexico win 1:0 and then 2008 the Mexicans triumphed 2:1.
Also, Prior to their latest clash Mexico edged the four time African champions 1:0 in 2017. Chris Hughton will take on United States’ in another friendly game billed for Wednesday. The United States have won the last two meetings between both sides.
The main objective of this friendly matches is to prepare very well towards upcoming AFCON 2023.
