Enzo Fernandez stepped in to ensure Cole Palmer took Chelsea’s penalty against Arsenal. Ian Wright believes Cole Palmer’s penalty argument with Raheem sterling in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal. This is a positive sign of Chelsea’s dressing room.
Cole Palmer put Chelsea in front from the penalty spot in the first half at the Stamford Bridge. However, the 21 year old summer signing was forced to fend of Raheem Sterling attempt to take the spot kick. After a brief confrontation, Enzo Fernandez stepped in to ensure that Palmer was the one who took the penalty despite Sterling protests.
Former Arsenal Striker and Legend Ian Wright praised Enzo Fernandez decision to intervene. As well as Sterling not taking the decision to heart as he went on to celebrate with Palmer and the rest of his Chelsea teammates.
Also, I like that f om Palmer but I like the fact that the team came round to say, let him do it. The thing is Raheem looked a little bit disappointed at first but Fernandez came and said something. They score a penalty and everyone celebrated together of which is not a bad thing.
