Argentina back to the limelight with win against Brazil after their defeat to Uruguay

The rivalry between two of the most successful teams in  world football spilled over into violence. After Brazilians police charged Argentina fans in response to fighting in the stands during the national anthems. Fans near the fight panicked and came on to the pitch to escape the fighting. At least on of the fans got injured and was taken out for treatment on a stretcher.

The incident seems to be a reminder that the big game has arrived ones again in 2026 world cup qualifiers. World champions captain led by Lionel Messi went over to the terraces to calm the situation before leaving the pitch. And returning to the dressing room for more than 10 minutes.
