Ghanaian businessman and philanthropist Ibrahim Mahama has gifted a brand-new Honda CRF450R motorbike to British boxing champion Anthony Joshua during the boxer’s recent visit to Ghana. A video that surfaced online captured the moment the two were seen chatting beside the stylish red racing motorbike, which is specially built for track performance. The 2025 model of the Honda CRF450R is valued at $9,699 (about GH₵99,400), making it a generous and expensive present.
Anthony Joshua, who is of Nigerian heritage and known for his love of motorcycles, arrived in Ghana earlier this week to participate in the highly anticipated “Battle of the Beasts” boxing event. The show, which took place on Friday, June 13, 2025, was organized by Sharaf Mahama, son of former President John Dramani Mahama, under his sports promotion company Legacy Rise.
Right from his arrival at Kotoka International Airport, Joshua embraced the local vibe. He was greeted by an energetic crowd, and when he noticed a flashy motorbike among the welcoming entourage, he wasted no time—he hopped on, fired it up, and joined local bikers in an unexpected street ride, thrilling fans with his spontaneity.
The former world heavyweight champion, who once held the IBF, WBA, WBO, and IBO titles, has had an impressive professional career, boasting 28 wins out of 31 fights, with 25 by knockout. He was one of the major highlights at the Battle of the Beasts, alongside fellow boxing star Amir Khan, turning the night into a star-studded event. The show is already being hailed as one of the biggest boxing nights in Ghana’s recent history.
Beyond the ring, Joshua has been spending quality time with the Mahama family. After the boxing event, he attended a special Father’s Day church service, where former President Mahama played the role of master of ceremonies. The boxer’s visit hasn’t been all sports and ceremonies—he’s also been spotted enjoying Ghana’s natural beauty, including a relaxing boat ride with Ibrahim Mahama.
From receiving a luxury motorbike to immersing himself in Ghanaian culture, Anthony Joshua’s trip has been a blend of celebration, connection, and fun, making his visit truly memorable for both him and his fans.
